Ho hum... only 3 teachers showed up today... out of the usual 6. Got lots of free time today, so just spent it on a short meeting with the batch prexys/reps and the chairman. I guess everything's set and waiting for approval from the other officers. Have to meet the freshmen batch on Friday and the rest on Saturday, since the freshies have ES12 classes... and I don't intend to cross the path of that Arch't. Rosario *beep... AGAIN. We also threw a small birthday party for Carl at the office. Just a glass of Coke and a slice of choco cake for each one of us. Bell rang for my ES23 class at 6:30... so more iteration problems to solve...

On the way home, mom made kwento about how my lola fell from her chair yesterday. We live in the same house, but I didn't know about it today. I'm so disoriented these days with all the work I have to handle... academics, council, club and school paper... but I love the job by the minute, so doesn't matter really. Anyway, back to my lola... my Di-ee Po (sister of my lola) went to Sam Kao Tsu, a Buddhist temple infront of SHS-B, and asked the seer there about my lola. The seer there said that my lola has been receiving many signs from the "heavens" that she should repent for her sins, 'coz the TIME is near. I don't know what sins there are, since when you're that old, you could hardly do hanky panky nasty stuff. Anyway, the seer said that my lola's been really stubborn about the signs such that we, as her descendants, are being punished for her sins in the hope that she would wake up and heed the signs. Scary... really scary! I got goosebumps after. Could this curse be true?

Let me see... I'm a Catholic by religion, but not by practice. I could say that my faith is still 25% strong, but, BIG BUT, Sam Kao Tsu has never been wrong about anything. When we were still young... like grade school to early high school , we'd visit the temple before going to 7:30AM class to pray for good test results. We even carried with us incense ashes, yellow paper and "pat kua" (octagon mirror) wrapped inside a red cloth for protection. The seer there once read my palm. I could still remember what he had to say, and now as I look back on that very day like it was yesterday, I could attest that everything he said is true and has actually happened. Curses... curses... curses... where's Harry Potter when you need him?

I just got home from an afternoon of beach-hopping. After my class, Rey, Mark and I had this crazy idea of going on a road trip. First, we walked from TC to Family Park to survey the place. Johan and a friend of his brought their wheels and picked us up at the park. We then went to Montebello to inquire for our Acquaintance Party. We then drove to Mactan and beach-hopped in the order: Vistamar, White Sands, Cebu Marine Resort, Pacific Cebu Beach Resort.

We surveyed the beaches and their facilities. Impressive. I wonder why we always go to Maribago and Shangrila on beach outings. They're not the only "classy" beaches out there after all. All 5 of us liked the last beach resort we visited. Looks like Plantation Bay without the eye-popping entrance fee. Their room rates aren't that expensive, since they're having a promo. It's actually a dive resort owned by a Japanese immigrant exclusively for Japanese and Koreans only, but they recently opened their doors to locals due to the economic crunch. The F&B manager there even gave us a free complimentary drink... hehe. You should have seen our faces... we looked like a bunch of lottery winners... nyerk.

So tonight, I have to review the quotations they gave us and see which offer is most workable. A beach party at that Pacific Cebu Resort would really be fantastic, but the lowest price they could give is above our budget ceiling. Maybe we'll use it for a batch party, a Christmas party or just a beach outing with some friends.

The beaches were nice (should have brought some trunks, if we had planned earlier)... so was the journey, the company, the conversations, the laughs (whew... what a bunch of clowns) and most of all I couldn't miss the driving tips and tricks we taught Rey, who's still learning to synchronize the clutch and the gears... hehe. Relax lang Rey, relax. Forgive us car fanatics, peeps. Mom won't give me a car, 'coz she knows that with the way I drive, I'd probably turn a Civic to Schumi's Ferrari. I guess I'll have to give up the dream that mom would someday give me a car. Just have to study hard, get on a good job, work hard, save a lot, rise thru the ranks fast, get that 6 digit paycheck... and maybe a Ferrari Enzo Marinello and a mansion wouldn't be far off. What a long way to go! Way, way far, but before I get to the grave, I'm definite to have BOTH!

Anyway, here's what my birthday says about me... whatever they have to say is...

Of rare beauty
knows how to adapt
likes luxury
of good health not in the least shy
tends to look down on others
self-confident
determined
impatient
wants to impress others
many talents
industrious
healthy optimism
waiting for the one true love
able to make quick decisions.

... actually true, except for the first one, which I don't know exactly what that means.

Allow me to take one really DEEP breath...

My day was so hectic that I haven't had a meal till now. Left the house early today for my Economics class, then classes straight till 11:30. I was supposed to have a 1-hour lunchbreak, but I spent it reviewing for my ProbStat exam. Took the long exam with very tedious calculations with all the tallying, inferencing and all... my whole system crashed with a severe migraine.

After the exam, the teacher of my next class told us that we'll be changing our class schedule from MWF to 3 hours straight on Saturdays... so I'll be in school from 10 to 1PM starting tomorrow... so there goes tomorrow's lunch. My break got extended, but I had to finish the papers regarding the Robotics Club I'll be starting. Finally, all registration papers were handed over, so I'll just be waiting for Sir Bum's approval. After handing all the papers in, I had to rush to Main to represent the council in the welcome party tendered by the school for the freshmen. Buti pa sila they got free snacks, song & dance numbers. They'll also be enjoying a band showcase and a disco tonight... all at the university gym. This is the first time the school threw a party for any freshmen batch since the 1st day of its existence! Wish I was still a freshie, but people do grow OLD. Proud to be a SENIOR!... na lang... hehe.

From Main, I had to rush back to TC for my 6:30 class where the teacher pounded us with more formulae and more iteration problems. This is mind torture believe me. And now I'm home, taking some time to blog and then have to start making my homework for tomorrow's class. I gotta reward myself with a movie marathon tomorrow afternoon (hope there are good movies to watch). No interruptions. Just me and the movie screen.

Just a thought... I haven't been to the mall this entire week... milagro! Have to go, our neighbor's radio is pounding my head with an F4 song... spare me please before I turn into a San Chai or a Dao Ming Sho... whoever, whatever they are.

My Di-ku and Di-chim just arrived from their Euro tour. They showed us some pictures they took and made a slideshow out of them. We're all having dinner here at home with food ordered from Lumpia House. I'm here solving iterations while munching on some late night snack... a whole yellow paper back to back for just one problem.

This afternoon Doc Maja handed me an envelope... with a "heavy" letter. I just got a reprimand letter from the Chairman of the Department of Architecture because of our late notice of last Saturday's event. He had the nerve to copy furnish it to Doc Maja and the CAFA Dean who happens to be my mom's good friend. I'm so dead here. To think he's an SVD brother, and look how heartless he is. I'll bet he won't be ordained with that kind of attitude. Have to draft a letter of apology for him to be given 1st thing in the morning. I think this is all the working of that Arch't Rosario *beep... female dog. So I guess this is all for now. 7:30 again tomorrow.

Monday, June 23, 2003

I just noticed that my MWF days are super loooongg. The classes just tire me at the end of the day. Hmm... must be those extra long equations. Our numerical methods teacher mahilig mag-trip... typical of smart graduates from UP Diliman. He's actually asking us to solve iteration problems MANUALLY which could simply be solved through a loop program in Turbo C. It's fun doing the computer's job. It really is, 'coz you find out how the processor really works. But it's just tiring on our part... the human part, I mean. The chip just gets hot after a fast computation, while my head spins after doing the same job at an hour's rate... that's why they invented the PC.

Well, today we attended the Freshmen's ORSEM at TEC. They gave me 5 minutes to speak in front of the crowd. Amazing what blogging can do... no jitters, fritters and critters... hehe. What could be better???... FREE SNACKS courtesy of the CEC!

So much for my day, it's rest day tomorrow. My mom will be undergoing an endoscopy tomorrow early morning at CDH, so have to drive her there (no license yet)... just have to pray that no j@ck@$$ bumps me on the way. VOT meeting in the afternoon and have to file for car pass sticker. Deadline's tomorrow already. Got busy with council stuff such that I left behind the papers for the car pass and the club I'm starting. Work momentum is in good shape, just have to time everything properly so that everything falls into place. Things are slowly forming shape. Hope this continues. Gotta hit the sack to embrace a new day ahead!

"Oh happy day... oh happy day..."

The Freshman General Assembly was a huge success. Thanks to the efforts of Vanessa, Maia, Stanley, Victor, and most specially Johan, Rey and Mark for carrying the snacks all the way up to the SMEI AVR. Thanks also to Sir Brian for his support and the CompE Department's support of our projects. Same goes to Mitch for the reservations and Gary for the letter drafts. What a good start for the schoolyear... 1st event.... SUCCESS! The new set of freshmen officers were a nice bunch. We had a short meeting after the assembly, and we formally welcomed them to our power team. We taught them a few tricks of the trade and with practice, they will get the hang of it in no time. Wanted to serve lunch to all the hardworking peeps who really sweated it out, but sorry peeps, council's broke. Charge it... swipe the card.

Went to Ayala afterwards to meet up with Paeng and Jed. Had hot choco at Bo's and then went to Harbour City with them for some steamed rice... yummm... whatta pig out. As if it wasn't enough, my mom txtd that we're going to have snacks at Don Hen. Yipee! Had 3 slices of Fisherman's Pizza and their Pasta Ala King... *oink... reminds me of my food trip blogs long long time ago. Haven't blogged about food for several months. I could remember my early blogging days, where I could post almost 4 times a day... all about lunch, snaks, dinner and food!!!

Met up with my uncle Omid and went off to Makro where he bought a water dispensing machine. We were looking at some grapes and he asked me to choose a bunch for him. So I chose the best. Turns out, it was a nasty, but very thoughtful plot. 'Coz when he dropped me off at home, he left with those grapes I handpicked on the dinner table while I went to my room to freshen up... with a note of thanks. Family is where the heart is after all.

I'm off to the airport to pick up some guests... without a driver's license... shhhhh... Tah tah... what a nice day... no hitches. There should be more June 21's in the calendar.
Hmm... someone made kulit last night about something tomorrow. Well, I chose to ignore it. Just gave a few alibis. I felt bad having to make up "white lies", but sometimes, one just has to... It was a choice of lesser of two evils. I guess I've learned some tricks lately. I'm not that old of a dog after all.

Ooops... happy thoughts muna pala... Leslie paid us a visit at the CEC Office. Nice pictures Les! I really liked the pics... so PERFECT! You're my bet, my manok! Go for it, but take it a step at a time... and would it be alright if Id say... someone's nearing THE figure??? hehe. Joke joke joke! Serious bitaw, I think you look stunning. Maybe you should visit Manila more often, basin ma super model na ka when you get back... heeee.

Anyway, I really had fun talking to you kanina.. t'was like meeting someone that has changed a lot in so little time. Good for you! What a nice afternoon it was, enjoying "tea" with the other officers from 2:30 down 6:30. It's fun there at the office ever since Jay brought his PC. There's even a pet turtle in the office squirming inside a glass bowl. They're even planning to install a TV set, an aircon... then maybe a bed, a refrigerator and a home entertainment system could top it off... hehe. Oink! I guess that's about it... and oh yeah... I have the Lord to thank for a great show of determination and effort on 4 CompE Council officers... hmm... to the most supportive goes the spoils! Yemen!

Okay, heres the fun part. I wanna exercise my dictionary. For weeks, Ive been solving SunStars daily crossword puzzle to sharpen my... err... tongue. Here it goes. As for today, all I could say is, WHAT A DAY! Today just proves that everything exists in perfect chi. Two of my teachers were absent today, so I had much time off. Spent my lunch with Jeffrey Lim and some classmates of his who I found very entertaining. We were all in high spirits while watching some noontime show on the TV alongside the jokes of George at the dorm canteen. Where have these people been for the past 4 years? I've never appreciated the dorm canteen that much, not until now. Well, that "much time off" wasn't so much after all, thanks to the several complaints I got about our upcoming acquaintance party. My mind was running all day thinking of ways how to establish a win-win situation here. As of press time, original plans still push through. I've learned how to sort out the noise and hear the melody instead. 400.00 is 400.00. Some can't handle it, well they're not obliged to. Have their own party? None of my business. As officers, we're here to provide them with something... something wonderful, a service. If they don't like it... take it or leave it. Simple as that. You still pay for the roasted calf on the buffet even if youre a Buddhist. Dont like the menu, go find another restaurant.

An effective leader is one who believes in his own beliefs, his principles and his stand on issues. Constituents know this and most often they follow suit. When they see their leaders are firm on something, they too will be firm towards it. A leader who banks in between two rivers will end up flat against a rock along with his passengers. Wavering comments I heard today is an indication that something is wrong with this council. I don't know what it is or who is playing Jennifer Garner, but I'm sure I will rid off it ASAP... whatever it takes... and I really mean whatever it takes. Only a few have seen my OTHER extreme and surely no one likes it. No one does.

One thing I learned from Mitch last year was that you can't please everyone and that comments will always be there as a challenge. I laud Mitch for a job well done and I definitely will follow suit. Seeing him go through it all was an inspiration forever etched as proof of the human will. I too can do it. Some people kasi think they are the majority, when in fact they are just ONE. Feeling noh?

As to plans for the acquaintance, 3 of us talked with the department regarding support, and YES, we got FULL support. Unexpected, but this years definitely different. Support in what? How? I don't know what Maam Daday,, Sir Brian and Sir Barangan meant, but if people get curious as to what this support means, I have only one thing to say, "Curious ka noh? Find out for yourself." As I said before, things will be new this year. Maybe some people ought to learn what delayed gratification is all about. It's not in encyclopedias or dictionaries. You just NEED to embrace it. Sometimes, theres a pot at the end of the rainbow. Sometimes, theres none... but who knows right? Maybe, maybe not. Actually, theres more to the rainbow than just the Leprechauns pot. See it this way, you might find out more than just a pot of gold... maybe tons of diamonds... and thats just the pakapin... still more.

Today, I got quite a tonguelash from the CAFA instructors especially Arch't Rosales for the delayed communication letters. I had to speak in a pakumbaba way, just to show that I concede to the councils error. Out of the four, I spoke only to two, and I'll be persuading another two tomorrow (one of which is Arch't Rosario)... yikes... mag rosaryo na lang ko daan.

Spoke to a council member on the way home about how some people get credit for things they dont even do. Our talk got cut off since my sundo arrived already. If he gets to this site, well, my reply would be, Dont worry. Fair is fair. I give credit where it is due. Soon it will be realized whos really doing the dirty job. My only prayer is that those fakes wont brag too much of their so-called achievements, because if they tell many, many too will know whos been playing Pinocchiooooooo. Its subtly getting yourself undressed in public. As what my english teacher once said, And gaba dili mu.... saba.

Rest day for me today... like being God resting on the Sabbath... hehe. I'll be going to school in a minute now to deliver some books some friends want to borrow. Just wanna take this opportunity to thatnk Gary for his idea of doing a room-to-room campaign to ensure a big audience for this Saturday's assembly. Never thought of that idea, 'coz marketing was never my forte. Anyway, I hope the campaign works and hope you could find someone else to help you with it. If you can do it by yourself, the better... why not.

Tuesday, June 17, 2003

Just came home from school. I had to wake up early to make sabay with my cousins who had to go to school early. I also promised Benny that I'd lend him a book, so had to drop it off early too. The driver dropped me off at TC where I did some changing of class schedules again... lately I just can't get enough... so hard to please person... dunno why. Nway, I had to rearrange my subject schedules again and now, my classes are straight from 7:30 to 11:30, break an hour and straight class for 2 hours, break for 4 hours then one last class in the evening with a teacher who just graduated from UP Diliman... hmmm... I could learn a lot from this one. So finally, I have no more classes TTh... whole 2 days FREE!!!

Rode a jeep to Foodland and walked all the way home. I have this huge addiction to walking. I must have been a cheetah in my previous life. I just love to walk... if I could get somewhere just by foot, I would. Hmmm... I'm now home designing a poster which I will dropp off later at TC for the council. Just viewed some really nice photos over the web. Thanks, and yes, I'll abide by my oath... hehe. Nice group you have. I hope your group stays intact for as long as time. Oh, and I was able to recruit one additional member for our multimedia design group. He's really good at the craft, but he's very... ummm... money-faced? is that the right translation for chi-bin? hehe.

Nway, I have to end this blog. Hafta drop this poster in school and then accompany my A-ma to Ayala where we will have lunch at Rai Rai Ken with a close family friend in the States who once arranged for our U.S. Visas.

The weather is soooo cold... sarap matulog. I had to drag myself to wake up in time for mass. Hehehe... only a few people attended. They must have been still on their bed snoozing. I'll be a homeboy for the next 3 hours, then I'll watch Bruce Almighty... for the 3RD TIME... with my mom, bro and my two cousins.

I had a good laugh even on the second sitting. I ran out of air during that newsroom scene where Bruce was controlling the voice of the newscaster... and also his heretic statements like: "Smite me, oh mighty smiter!" "God has taken my bird and my bush"(...ahem... hahahaha!) and "God is a kid sitting on an anthill with a magnifying glass"... enough of that. Makilatan niya ko. Alrighty then. Laughter, the best medicine!

Saturday, June 14, 2003

Had a very successful meeting this morning with the council. Nice weather too... raining... at least the air is cold and so it feels cozier.

Went to the mall afterwards and I was roaming around when I suddenly found myself at the ICT Exhibit area. Went around the computer exhibit booths and landed on Meridian's Inter-school Web Design Contest... also known as the 3rd Web Awards. I first had lunch and decided to join. I am no Flash expert, but I just gave it a try, since I had nothing to do for the afternoon. I joined the College level category.

I designed a website for 6 hours... from 2:30PM to 8:30PM... and... something went wrong... just my luck. I had 2 judges judge my design and time came for the third and last judge, guess what happened???

... the computer FROZE... argh... and when I tried to recover the file, only the introduction page showed up. I was supposed to get 2nd place, but I got disqualified since the last judge didn't get the chance to see my design. They offered me to join in tomorrow's contest which will be open for all ages, from elementary to professionals. I hesistated, since the contest tomorrow will be from 11 to 5, and I don't wanna miss the usual Sunday mass at City Sports... I can't replace Msgr. Dakay's humorous sermons for something I'm supposed to be done with. So the judges there offered me the unexpected... that I'd be the fourth judge. I didn't take up the offer, but I just threw a few comments. Melvs, I think your friend Julius will win 1st place. His site was really nice and he definitely deserves to win. 2nd is that guy to his right and 3rd the guy on my right. Just a hunch though.

Even if I'd join tomorrow's tilt, I don't think I'll have a chance against 'em professionals. Imagine, while I was designing, I constantly had to open the HELP file for some quick lessons and samples. Hehehe... interesting how resourceful and creative people could get when working under pressure. I learned so much in one afternoon... maybe I needed more mastery on masked layers and ActionScript, then I could have just gotten myself into a crash course in Flash for just 200 bucks - the registration fee. (what a great offer!)

Oh well, it's not the results that matter. What mattered most was that I learned a lot and I had a good time. The fact that I almost got 2nd place despite having decided just at the spur of the moment already makes me happy. Maybe I should brush up on my LUCK a bit.

I gotta stop this blog thing and do something else. Look at me... I just spent the whole afternoon staring at the computer and here I am still facing it. Nyt peeps.

Here are some statements I got from a book I read. Hope this helps. Don't worry, I'll expound to the best of my ability.

ON RISK
"It costs so much to be a full human being that there are very few who have the love and courage to pay the price. One has to abandon altogether the search for security and reach out to the risk of living with both arms. One has to embrace life like a lover."
- Morris West

Les, I saw it coming and I guess by now someone else in the name of "Dwing" has added a new light bulb to brighten up the picture. The situation is now presented before you, clearer than ever. You have the power to stop aching for something that is... you know what I mean. You too have that same power to pursue, who knows a pot of gold might just be at the end of the rainbow. It goes down to that choice you must make. Life is really and SIMPLY all about choices. And the real deal of life is that only you can make the choice, because only you have the power to determine what road lies ahead. I said before, "I will stand by my resolve. I will run my course." It is a choice I make. These words are for anyone's taking. It always has been, is and will be a choice made by the INDIVIDUAL. That's the beauty of being human. We are powerful enough to make choices.

ON HAPPINESS
"The secret of being happy is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does."
- James M. Barrie

I laud one of the statements you made in one of the lines in that long and medyo malabo chat you posted. When Dwing asked you why live if you know you're gonna die anyway and you said "Journey", I was shocked to hear such a mature answer. It took me just a while ago to figure that out... from the book of course. I'm not that mature to come up with such an idea like that. Most people are results-driven. I too could say that of myself, till now. I decided to change that attitude. When we are results-driven, tendency is that if we don't get what we want or things don't go the way we wanted them to be, we fret, get depressed, get mad, become bitter... and feel/do all that negative stuff. What we don't realize there is that had we not chosen to take on the challenge, we wouldn't be any different, we'd be missing a lot of experience. If you don't get what you want, so what?... at least now you know you could eliminate one option and go on with the next. Am I making sense? I certainly hope so.

It's all about the journey. Let's say I decided one morning to clean the house, the car, cook breakfast, wash the dishes, wash clothes and all that. My parents wake up and, TADAH!!!... but they noticed nothing. If I did all that to impress them, then I'd end up bitter, sour that my "unusual" efforts have gone unrewarded and unnoticed. But if I did all that because I love to see a clean house, a clean car, breakfast on the table, clean plates, crisp ironed folded clothes then I'd still be happy. If they praised me, fine, it's just a bonus, sort of an icing on the cake. See, don't let others be your "happiness factor". Don't put your happiness on the hands of others, because you can't control or manipulate other people. You can't walk up to somebody and say "Yo, make me happy!" Have a "happiness factor" that is more stable, more controllable... and the best factor would be YOURSELF, your mind, your heart. Do what you please.

A husband/wife, a father/mother, a friend can only love you for so much, as they have their own lives too. Only you can love yourself fully, truly. Les, I hope this would suffice. Have to sleep early for another council meeting tomorrow... never ends.
Just came back from bloghopping. Seems like the blogworld is silently silent. Visited some sites through some other people's sites and found out that there's indeed a world out there. Hmmm... three day vacation for us here at USC. Yipee... can't wait to meet my teachers next week... that's when school "officially" starts. I have this hunch that I'll be under Engr. Morante "aka Moses" this sem. I better start memorizing the USC Mision Vision Statement, the College of Engineering Aims, the USC Hymn and... the Ten Commandments. Hehe... as to my wardrobe of collared shirts or short/long sleeved polos... no problem. Just hope no one will mistake me for a professor this time around.

Wednesday, June 11, 2003

Today I got to tour 2 blocks of CompE students. I had fun touring them. They were very active with all their questions... and I too learned a lot... that I could now say I'm a bonafide... "taga bukid!"... hehe.

Finally, I'm done with my enrolment. I got a very nice sked this semester. Possibly one of the best, 'coz my classes are one after the other and my afternoons on MWF's are free, while I just have one itsy bitsy class on TTh's. All that for 21 units... impressive! Though the canteen is new, I guess they're wrong timing again 'coz this time I won't tambay in my old pad. Got to do away with the old and make way for the new... or else managhan akong problema... hehe. New priorities this year!

What a long, but exciting day. I'm so pooped, I'll hit the sack once I'm done with this book by Andrew Matthews.

Monday, June 09, 2003

Someone treated me for snacks. Haven't had a Subway in 4 years! yummm... grabe! Thanks a lot Mos. My turn next time.
1st day of class today, but no teachers... ho hum. Just played Starcraft with some friends this morning to kill time, then here I am blogging at Ayala's GlobeQUEST Wi-Fi terminal. gtg.

Sunday, June 08, 2003

Just came home from dinner with 3 friends at Cue Cafe Crossroads... and I came home without a wallet. *huhuhu* Someone must have stolen it or I must have been danghag to leave it unattended. Not my driver's license! Argh... can't sleep. My mind's running... this better stop. I wanna sleep and call it a day already.

Thursday, June 05, 2003

Alas, I didn't have to wake up early this morning to go to school for enrollment. I'm not done enrolling yet, since we had to petition to open a subject, ECE15. Lazy Sir Salva is still on vacation, so our petition will still be approved by Monday pa... that's 1st day of classes. See, USC proudly boasts that they've been around town for blah blah blah years... and they can't even run a smoothsailing enrollment, much more instill discipline on their faculty. In related news, we're supposed to handle a seminar this June 21... and we CAN'T... know why??? USC will be renovating the AVR. Renovating... FINALLY... but why of all times NOW!!! Don't they know that classes will be starting soon and the students will... like... be using the AVR as venue for some activities... duh! Due to their always wrong timing and inept decisions, the council and the CompE Department will lose some 6,000 worth of revenues. I will definitely write an article on this. Y'know what, I see no future for this school. They boast that they're the best university in the whole of Cebu. If that's the case, then I could just imagine what it's like to be in the OTHER schools. Ikaw pa nagyayabang, ikaw pa ang bad example. Nakakahiya noh? Can't wait to leave this wretched, cursed ground... like in 2 years time. I'm praying hard that 2 years will already be TOMORROW! Ignore me, sometimes nangangati lang talaga ang dila ko... minsan ang sarap kasi upakan yung iba eh.

Just got home from Ayala. With the freed up time I had, I got back to my workout days. Missed lots of them due to the lousy enrollment process. Then I found myself fiddling with the computers at the Intel booth at Ayala. Guess who were manning the computer stations? Sherilyn, Dee, Hannah, Paul and another TC CompE girl whose name I didn't know... hehe... I'm not that friendly after all... tsktsktsk.

I just finished watching another episode of Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas... yah, I watch stuff like that too. Hehe... ikinahihiya ko ba? Aba, hindi ah. I believe it's as entertaining as western shows like Dawsons Creek and Smallville.

On the brighter side of my so-called existence, I'm so happy that my cousins Matts and Kyle will be staying with us for the next 2 weeks. Yehey! I have playmates na... We're playing SIMS and Playstation as I speak. I think we'll be playing till sawa... er... till their bedtime that is. Wanna blog about my day, but what the heck... enrollment woes again... good thing I have only 3 more enrollments to endure.

Nway, on the positive side, I got this email from Leslie. I was dead laughing at the quotes and here's one that's definitely a low blow...

"Lam mo bang halos mamatay ako sa sakit pag umiiyak ka ng dahil sa kanya pero lam mo naiintindihan kita kung bakit mahal mo pa rin sya kahit na sinasaktan ka nya kasi mahal din kita kahit sinasaktan mo ko "

wooooooowwww... ouch! masakit! bwahahahaha! *evil grin

I'm supposed to be on the sack by now, but my eyes just won't... argh... This is always the case... more like a side-effect of working out in the gym... that's why I quit the gym before and well, now I'm back to it again. It's like my body is conditioned to be so active such that it's not sleepy even if I "feel" REALLY sleepy. I have barely 5 hours of sleep left to catch and my body still has enough energy for me to perhaps swim across the Mactan channel... back and forth!

It's been a while since I posted some lyrics, so I'd like to take this opportuity to feature a Filipino artist... Carol Banawa Heard of her? You must have known her if you've seen Tanging Yaman, where this singer turned actress boosted herself to stardom. She has a very beautiful angelic voice, better than Nina's in my own opinion. If you loved her songs - Panunumpa and Iingatan Ka, I suppose you'll love this one too. I heard it over the radio, and now that I'm wide awake (huhuhu), I dug the net for the lyrics. The song's long, but just worth 3 stanzas... repeated... shuffled and reshuffled.

I'm posting the song not for the message it delivers, since there's no one who should stay or is going away. Wanna post it because... if you happen to hear it or have heard it on the boombox, the entire song was sung by Carol herself... except for the last line, which was sung by a guy whose name wasn't mentioned in the credits. More like a pakapin... or "pasingit nga please..." There must have been a reason for the extra line and extra voice. Proves one thing that Filipino directors can be very creative... and not only that... they integrate the lessons/realities of life into their works.

Stay

Carol Banawa

Stay
Carol Banawa

I want you to stay never go away from me
Stay forever
But now, now that youre gone
All I can do is pray for you
To be here beside me again

Why did you have to leave me
When you said that love will conquer all
Why did you have to leave me
When you said that dreaming was as good as reality

And now I must move on
Trying to forget all the memories
Of you near me
But I cant let go of your love that has taught me
To hold on

I want you to stay never go away from me
Stay forever
But now, now that youre gone
All I can do is pray for you
To be here beside me again

Why did you have to leave me
When you said that love will conquer all
Why did you have to leave me
When you said that dreaming was as good as reality

And now I must move on
Trying to forget all the memories
Of you near me
But I cant let go of your love that has taught me
To hold on

Why did you have to leave me
When you said that love will conquer all
Why did you have to leave me
When you said that dreaming was as good as reality

Why did you have to leave me
When you said that love will conquer all
Why did you have to leave me
When you said that dreaming was as good as reality

I want you to stay
Never go away from me
Stay forever

I want to stay but I have to go away

It was a busy day for our store. With the 3-day back-to-school sale of Ayala, we nearly sold out our chicken, so we had to pull out more stocks from our main kitchen. After delivering the supplies and near closing time, my brother and I went to shop for some items. My brother bought 3 shirts and 2 long pants, while I got myself 2 shoes, a pair of pants and a shirt... a white shirt... something different now. With my usual orange and red get-ups, I wouldn't be surprised if people start singing me birthday tunes almost every week... teehee

Have to hit the sack now. A long day tomorrow awaits me... meeting with the Collegiate Engineering Council, enrolment, meeting again with our webteam... and who knows what events will pop out of nowhere...
