My Day
1st working day and the workload was rather light. Went to Wanderlanes this morning to report for duty. I received from Tita Joan Tiu another bundle of calling cards to encode... names and email addresses of the ASPAC Jaycees whom we will be contacting for the convention details. It was a homework job assignment, so I left the office to do the encoding work at home so as not to disrupt their office functions. By 3:00 I was done. I then logged on to the net to check my blogsite. Wanted to post blog, but I was caught up with chatting with Maia through YM. Got disconnected there, since my prepaid load expired. Argh... finally took a pinch of using prepaid. Reconnected using my postpaid I-Cebu account, but she already left Apple_Pays house, so I just talked with Apple_Pay. Spent 2 hours of telebabad with Leslie. Happy to have helped her with a gift idea of hers... jut it down Les, so you wont forget it. Trust me, its the perfect gift! Hope it goes well for you there.

Year Starter
Called up Mitchs house, but hes still in Manila... still touring??? Hehehe... Wanted to ask him some matters about CompE Council. I want to start the school year with a bang, and with ambitious goals comes extensive planning. Once the schedules are mapped out, hopefully I could meet with the new staff so we could discuss the first event, which is the Freshman Tour and the CompE Acquaintance Party. I hate so say this, but most administrations are judged by the outcome of PARTIES... like acquaintance and Christmas parties. Hehe... always the food!

News From The Wires
100KM more before coalition troops enter Baghdad...
Im here at home watching CNN, keeping in touch with the situation in Iraq. Not only is this war claiming more casualties daily, it is also shaking the foundations of international law. Its breaking up ties within EU and the transatlantic alliance... especially with Germany, France and Russia. Seeing the UN helpless in stopping the outbreak of the war in Iraq, the world is slowly losing their respect for the organization that is said to be the most powerful organization in uniting the entire human race. But I still believe that this war is doing more good than bad. As Bush once said, America would rather address this issue using their army, their navy and their air force, so that they dont have to deal with it using firefighters, policemen and medical personnel. Without Saddam Hussein, the world will definitely be a more peaceful place to live in.

Summer job starts tomorrow. It will be my first day in organizing a convention. Finally, I've got something productive to do this summer. The agony is OVER! Just finished entering some names and email adresses of the convention participants. Have to sleep now to prepare well for a bright day ahead!
Since I heard anticipated mass already yesterday, I was free this Sunday morning. I went to Ayala to watch over the store. Then I accompanied my mum to buy a pair of goggles as a graduation gift for my cousin Kyle. Then mum asked me to look around the mall to see if I wanted to buy something, 'coz it's been 5 months since I've bought something for myself.

Shopping Spree!!!
In my search for apparel, met Karen and her family in one of the hallways. I paid Loalde a visit to check if they had new arrivals for their shirts. So far none... there were a few shirts I wanted to buy, but I was really looking forward to buying a new pair of shoes to go with my casual wear around the mall. Visited Kickers and found one that made me take a second glance at it. It's the new style of shoes I've been ranting about, but the design wasn't so impressive. It looked more kiddy than fashionable. Saw another one at Royal Sporting House just across Kickers. It was a Nautica shoe that looked similar to the one in Kickers. This time, the shoe sort of looked plain. I wanted to see more stitches on it, since that's what makes this new style really special. Exhausting perhaps all shoe stores, including Linea, I visited the old-relaible Rustan's where I usually end up buying the things I want. Finally found the shoe that definitely fits my taste. The shoe was one I'd rate 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Guess where?... with great designs come shocking price tags of 16+ thousand... Salvatore Ferragamo! If I had money to burn, then why not, but then I don't have that much dough right now.

I belong to a breed of very "pili-an" shoppers, so I usually end up buying nothing after tiring rounds and rounds of shopping. It's either I didn't find any that passed my ever-discriminating eye, or my wallet just got defeated by shocking price tags. Sometimes, you just can't have everything.
Just got off from a wonderful YM chat with a really nice friend. You know who you are and thanks for the trust! The boat shook a bit, but it sails still in search for land. If destiny permits it, it will soon find shore. In the meantime, the captain waits in vain for the strom to clear and maybe, just maybe, still not sure, but hopefully the way will be clearer. Somehow, the ship shall dock on dry land whether it be on a bustling port or on an uncharted territory.

Chit Chat Over Coffee... and Froccino Oreo
I spent the afternoon with Jed, Lendel, Raffy at Ayala. We were looking for a place to stay and chit chat, so we stayed at Bo's Coffee Club Entertainment Center. I had a mug of their Coffee Blend, which made my hands feel jittery... and hours later, my stomach didn't feel so good... must be the caffeine. The 3 guys were practically picking on me all afternoon. Seems like their snooping around and intriguing into my life. They had lot of laugh and fun, but come to think of it, it hurts a bit when you have this feeling that people have been doing some research about you behind your back. Raffy's from DLSU and it seems he knows a lot about me... I wonder why... Is my life, my private life, that intriguing??? Is it that colorful that people can't help but be curious about it??? I don't think so, but why ME, ME and ME??? Why do they put me on the spotlight all the time???

Sensible Talk and Proof on "Strong Woman Theory"
At first it was just the 3 of us at Bo's, then we saw Maia, Blanche and Mercy sit at a table nearby. Then Raffy's sisters, Tracy and Diandra arrived. I was talking with Tracy most of the time, since the 3 guys were talking about anime cartoons and characters (I'm so ZERO on that topic). Two of us have known each other since grade school, since I often visited Raffy's house then, and Tracy was always there to play Nintendo with the boys... so nothing unusual really with striking a conversation with her.

We were talking about life beyond college, since she graduated from Ateneo 2 years ago. She said finding a job was hard, to think she graduated with flying colors from the Land of Blue and White. Makes me wonder what's in store for me when I graduate from USC... She also talked about financial independence, that since her dad cut his financial support for them (I'll skip details here), she had to, out of her own "sariling sikap"sell insurance. Now, she already pays for her own bills, like her cellphone bill, credit card bills and her day-to-day expenses. She still lives with her family, but other than that, she's financially independent. Everything she spends on comes from her own pockets. Isn't that nice? That's what I'd call a strong woman, a definite proof of Maia's strong woman theorem.

Most of the time, the usual topics of conversations are about the four-letter word that brings about so many emotions, interpretations and meanings... and it is oftentimes the frequent topic of debates - LOVE, be it about courtship, guys, ladies, bf-gf relationships, friends and lovers and all those topics that point to one same thing - LOVE! I guess we've invested much time, saliva, effort and emotions on these topics, but still we haven't found solutions to even some basic questions. If it were compared to a job, it would be, as what Melvs once said "Overworked and Underpaid".

We often talk about LOVE, since it's what interests most of us at our present age. It interests me too, but I guess I have this to say, I've grown tired of that same topic over and over again. It's pointless to argue and debate over such matters, because in the end, we all will end up finding that special someone to "have and to hold till death do us part" It's about time, time and TIME. I'm more like WAITING IN VAIN WHEN TO STRIKE MY LIGHTNING... (does it sound right???) I'm sure to make lightning strike, but as to when, it's as uncertain as when the end of the world is. And as to life beyond marriage, I guess each of us has his/her destiny. Some of us will be unfaithful (we couldn't really tell), yet we should bear in mind that amidst all divorces and broken families, there are a chosen few who have kept the faith and who have expanded beyond the vow of marriage into rearing a model family with generations of well-bred offsprings. Take this for an example: Do any of you know Jack and Rose Huang? I see then during Sunday mass and I could say they're my ideal couple. Even now that their somewhat old and have 3 kids, I still see them so loving towards each other, like whenever and wherever I see them, they project this image that they're still in the courting stage or are having honeymoon EVERYDAY! Sights like that just give me that extra reason to believe that indeed fairytales do exist.

If MANGKAY is to a girl, what's for a guy? (I don't know much Bisaya, so bear with me)
It's always nice to talk about future plans. For me, being a step ahead wouldn't hurt and sometimes thinking ahead prepares you for the struggles that are yet to come. Truth is, that talk I had with Tracy this afternoon was one I'd call a "real" conversation, which I haven't had for EONS... I dunno what's with me and older women, but I find more sense in their talks and definitely I could relate... as if minds just meet. Women are supposed to mature earlier than men do, so talking with someone 3 years younger than me would be like striking a conversation with someone of my age. Tracy's 2 years ahead of me, so that would mean 5 years ahead of my maturity. Maybe it's me... I'm just too OOOOOLLLLLDDDDD!!!!! Question is, what's the term for a guy who's too old for his age?

BTW
Today's my Angkong's birth anniversary, so we went to 6:00 mass at Sacred Heart Church, then had dinner at Rai Rai Ken SM LOVE JAPANESE FOOD!!!

Spent the morning at home playing Tiberian Sun... hehehe... back to those crude forms of entertainment. Went to Ayala for the afternoon and paid a visit to my derma. Ouch... my face hurts... easy now, easy... Then I rode a cab to Mitsubishi Motors to pick up our Space Wagon... Love the smell of factory air... ahh... Went back to Ayala, then walked around and had snacks at Portions. Love their Marinara... then I installed some bars in our store to hang frying pans and utensils. Drove home, opened people's blogs and posted one for my site. That's it. Just another ordinary summer vacation day.

Thursday, March 27, 2003

Spent the whole day infront of the PC playing Airport Inc. - a simulation game like SIMS, but about airports, planes and retail contracts. That sums pretty much how I spent the day.

Hmmm... I was just experimenting again on FlashMX. Read 1/6 of the book today and tried to apply some techniques using the software itself, but I still don't have enough skill to apply the book's lessons. I think I really need to enroll in a course on Flash. Self-study ain't doing me wonders.

I guess for now this is the only thing keeping me busy. I really wanna hang out with friends, but seems to me everyone's staying at home. I just wonder whether they are as bored as I am... or is it just me? Summer's getting boring and to think I just tasted 5 days of it... and still MORE to come. Hope it gets better by the day, or at least by weeks...
Day 5 of summer vacation... and still a long long summer to go. Once you get used to something, it's quite hard to "survive" without it.. or at least make do without it for a while. I'm speaking of our car. This morning we commuted using taxi. I accompanied mum to see Dr. Judy Lao again. Mum asked me to wait at Bo's Capitol while she saw the doctor. I was there for two hours or so. The aircon was biting cold and I got to sip 3 MUGS of coffee. Not only did the 3 MUGS warm me, it also kept me awake after barely 4 hours worth of sleep last night. I don't know what got to me last night, but I was really engrossed in changing my site layout. After changing some stuff, I checked it just now and BOOM... whole thing crashed... I don't know why. Have to figure it out once I reach home. It was fine when I left Blogger at 3AM.

Of Ammunitions and The Enduring Human Spirit
I spent the afternoon in the movie house at Ayala watching "Tears of The Sun" starring Bruce Willis. The movie is very inspiring and I recommend you peeps watch it. Set aside the war scenarios and the bloody stuff and concentrate on the struggles of the characters. The movie definitely proves that there still lurks so much evil in the world. And as a quote in the movie goes "The only thing that makes evil triumph is for good men to do nothing"... or something like that. See it for yourself. The movie also depicts scenarios that teach a lot about TRUST... something I fervently believe in. I saw for myself the struggles of the African people and I have this to say: "In our day-to-day life, we encounter struggles... struggles that we believe are already beyond us... struggles that we think would eventually break us - whether it's about love, friendship, family, finances, academics, etc. We should learn to be grateful, to count our blessings, because there are others who struggle merely to survive.

New Look
This new "MATRIX" look of my site is just experimental. I was at home all day yesterday, coz I sort of missed my home alone days. I ran out of things to do, so I experimented with HTML to produce... this new look. I plan to make this site look more techie (fitting for a CompE student)... with more animations and other ek eks. I'm experimenting with FlashMX technology. Flash sites are definitely AMAZING and WONDERFUL, but they require a lot of skill, patience and creativity, plus they take rather much time to open. Flash sites are ideal for fast connections like DSL and cable, but for us dial-ins... hmmm... it's a dream far far away.

Stardate Log 032503... Weird Morning Cravings
This morning, I brought my mum to see Dr. Judy Lao at CDH for a check up. She underwent an ultrasound and the doctor discovered some gallstones, which are causing her some pain in the abdomen area. The condition is not that serious and the doctor said it will just vanish in time, so nothing to be alarmed really. While waiting for mum, I was craving for some Chinese lumpia. I went to Lumpia House, but they just opened shop, so no food items yet. I walked the entire stretch from Bo's to Great Han, and still no Chinese lumpia. Most of the shops were still closed then. My craving made me walk all the way to La Fortuna Bakeshop. Still no Chinese lumpia, so I settled for asado siopao. On the way back to the hospital, I saw some tasty fried lumpia being sold - 3 for 20, and so I just bought 3... the things I do for food!

Stardate Log 032503 Supplemental 1... Maintenance Check
Aside from bringing my mum to see the doctor, I also brought our car to its doctor, the Mitsubishi facility at Mandaue, for its 100,000-mileage check. The car will stay there for 2 days or so. I asked the mechanics to fix everything about the car... more like restoring it to brand new status. Cars are like people too... they need MAINTENANCE... if you know what I mean.

Stardate Log 032503 Supplemental 2... Prawn Day
Today was Prawn Day for me. I had lunch with my mum at City Sports Club. Tastiest food served - PRAWNS in Spicy Oriental Sauce... yumm... Dinner food at home, still more prawns. I'm allergic to it, but still I can't get enough of it. One of the ironies in life - We tend to LOVE what's forbidden.

Stardate Log 032503 Supplemental 3... Daily Exercise
Aside from my usual and almost daily exercise of walking around Ayala to burn calories, I visited the gym again today. While lifting weights (increased loads today by +10 pounds), guess who I met Melvs??? imong Arlan... all muscled, but still no one beats Chewy.

Stardate Log 032503 Supplemental 4... Classified
After gym, I went back to Ayala and spent the afternoon at Bo's with a friend. I got a reality check there and I'm glad we talked. I got a lot of insights and was able to give some too. Had a soothing cup of Bo's Coffee Blend, while my friend enjoyed the very sweet Mortal Cinnamon and a glass of Froccino Oreo... sweet to the max! My sweet tooth was green with envy!

Bloghopping on Thin Ice
I got to post Sunday's blog just this morning. The phone lines just went back a couple of minutes ago. The morning seems to be long, so I decided to check everyone's site and read their blogs from the top of the page to their oldest blogs down the page... it goes with their respective tagboards.

I spent most of the time at Leslie's site. What captivated me??? It's either the blue color of her site, which I happen to like very much, or the topic of her blog and her tagboard. I guess both mixed up really well to create that distinct effect. Love and Blue... seems like my emotions are suddenly walking on thin ice again.

Of Acid Tests and The Post Valentines Syndrome (that is if it does exist)
I want to share the conversation I had with Leslie the other night. I called her up, since I needed her p.o.v on a certain issue. I sort of have this guilt in me that I'm the reason why my barkada has fallen to pieces. It seems to me now that I was the only one holding the whole group together. It now appears that my courtship of that girl was comparable to one big show like Pangako Sa 'Yo and after the show was over, everyone just left, disbanded, drove off and went back to their homes. It's really disheartening to see this happen. It's my personal struggle with the girl... what does this have to do with the rest of the group??? Whenever we meet at the canteen, we used to pull tables and chairs together or at least sit on adjacent tables. Now, we rarely meet at the canteen and if we do, one group sat on this area, the other 5 meters away and the rest... never mind mentioning. I guess it's true that friends are indeed like wine... and that the acid test still remains the ultimate test of friendship.

Leslie's blog and tag-board posts brought back some of my thoughts on love matters. I know that we should make everyday Christmas Day, but Valentines Day everyday... it spells only one thing for me... thin ice amidst troubled waters. Someone the other day told me that he wonders why everyone this year seems to be talking about love, love and LOVE... I guess no matter how Apple_Pay assures me that I'm not becoming dense, I still believe I have grown really DENSE, DENSE THICK, IMPENETRABLY DENSE!

Tot korner
When I say I feel very old, I mean I have given much thought to almost about everything. I grew up in an environment full of mature adults. I was never the typical child that spent hours on the playground or in front of the black box playing PS2, Sega or Nintendo. I was either watching news, watching Chinese drama with my Ama, reading science books, building models of warplanes, sketching & drawing or listening to the conversations between my mum and my aunts & uncles. Whenever they talked about business and family matters over Sunday lunch table, I was always there, even to this day. During those lunch talks over tea and coffee, my brother and my other cousins are in my Ama's room playing, while I was with the grownups... trying to decipher what exactly is happening and what are they really talking about. I was always told in Chinese - "We are given two ears and only one mouth." So I just listened and didn't say a word.

I guess with love matters, I have given much pondering... and most of my thoughts all go to it. Being without a dad and a mother whom I'm not so open to when it comes to matters like these, I have charged into this battlefield with only my armor, my shield, my banner and with God as my sword. Maybe this explains why Maia says "walay brake ug kambyohay". I must have mentioned this phrase a couple of times in my past blogs. I just dive to the depths of the CHILL waters... into the COLDNESS of the heart of MOST women... and leave it to fate whether I'd die entering the realms of the unknown or I'd find that garden of bliss I have long sought for.

This is the reality of it. Definitely the extremes... PAIN vs BLISS This is how unpredictable the condition is. Some even are already married when they realize that their spouses are either gay or have those really dark secrets. These are the flaws that come with life... It has nothing to do with trusting and I guess there's no telling whether these "surprise, surprise!" will also happen to us. The existence of the unexpected is what makes life precisely... LIFE. If everything were so predictable, then what's the point of living. If you haven't tried, you haven't lived.

Love is a leap of fate. More so, it really is a leap of FAITH. It's about trust. When you trust, you don't doubt. You are sincere and your word becomes the binding seal. "Do not accept if seal is broken" I could say that those past internet quizzes I took are perfect definitions of my personality. I am capable of trust. Even to the point of ABSOLUTE trust, but when that trust is broken, I could also do an ABSOLUTE ditching and de-weeding... similar to what I'm now doing with the people whom I've trusted like family who ended up being traitors biting me behind my back. They just don't know that their backbiting days are over, since there are some who reveal the truth even without me asking them to. My CIA network may not be that accurate, but on this end of finding double agents, oh they do their jobs damn well!
Congratulations to my cousin Kyle!!!

Welcome to the CLUB
My cousin Kyle just graduated from Kindergarten. Like his ahias and achies in the Rapes clan, he received a medal for his great scholastic performance. He was one of the recipients of the St. Michael Award. Congratulations!

A Trip Down Memory lane
At the middle of the graduation ceremonies, I left my seat at the gymnasium of our alma mater. The gym was really humid and there were lots of blood-sucking insects swarming around so I took a short trip around the school campus.

I started schooling at SHS-B (I still prefer using B than J) in Kinder 1, since I spent my pre-school days at St. Benedict's Child Learning Center... with Miss Ybaez (for those St. Ben people out there, still remember her???) As if to sort memories in chronological order, I first visited the pre-school and kindergarten area. The same old classrooms were still there... the same swing, seesaw and slides I used to play with. There still stood the "rocket ship" where I once fell when a classmate of mine pushed me overboard... with it came my first school fight. Hehe...

I then visited the grade school classrooms. I checked the classrooms out to see whether my teachers then were still there. Only a few old timers were left. Most of the teachers now are the new ones, whose names do not resound in the corridors of memory lane. I watched the classrooms with great amusement. I could still see some of the ledgers and storage cabinets I once had difficulty reaching, since I wasn't one of the tall students of my time.

I then visited the high school building... home of most of my treasured memories. The classrooms looked the same and still the same high school faculty. With everything looking untouched, it was easy to reminisce my high school days. I could picture the people and the events as though they were just yesterday. I still could recall those late night overtime stays in our classrooms... for the never-ending rehearsals for a PALABAS show or dance presentation the next day, for a Math or Science project, or for endless games of Magic cards that kept us glued to our seats. Those were the years when I was always busy, busy and busy... barely breathing... I always had something to do... school publications, club activities, Student Council projects, academic requirements, and other extra-curricular responsibilities. In other words... NERD, NERD and NERDY NERD!!! Hehe... that was before, but now, thank God I'm not!

Well, those were the days... the days when committing errors didn't seem to be such a big deal... the days when wounded knees were just a trip to the infirmary away... the days when failing a subject can be "made up" by asking our parents to talk it out with the instructor... the days when the term "future" meant going to some college or university. I guess we could all say this isn't the same now that we've grown up. Those were the days.

Lollies Anyone???
Maia (starring again...) and her cousins ate at our store. Thanks again for the continued patronage. Could have given a discount to regular customers like you, but you paid already before I got to the store, so hope you liked the lollies instead. Hehe...

Life's Ironies
For the past few days, I had difficulty posting my blogs, since my ISP had technical difficulties regarding their trunkline. Now that the problem's fixed, I face another obstacle. The phonelineSSSS at home are all dead as of the moment. Is it the war in Iraq causing all this or is it just PLDT??? /me thinks of swapping to Globelines. Hmm... Imagine this, both of our phone lines are dead and in case there's an emergency... I just have to thank God that cellular phones have already been invented! Hope I could post this blog on the day that it should be.

Time check: 10:56PM, Sunday time.

Just a reply
What would you do if:
You saw your crush na natapilok in front of you?

Does natapilok mean trip and fall? If so, then I'd help her stand up.

Your crush is dating someone that is so ugly?

I'd just say in my mind :"why? Why?? WHY???" But who am I to question her taste, right? Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... and beholdee. Hehehe
Summer Vacation starts TODAY!!!

I went to school this morning to submit my final requirements for my ECE class. After submitting the papers, my work for the school year was done. School's finally over! Summer vacation here we come.

Beach... beach and more beach
I attended the VOT meeting at 10:30. We planned our year-end activity. It will be a beach party at Mar y Cielo slated this coming April 11.

First Summer Activity
I was at Ayala during the afternoon. Was walking around and met Gerome Camello. We wanted to watch Chicago with a friend of ours, Ramir. Our dear friend didn't arrive as scheduled so we contacted him thru his mobile and he told us he couldn't join us. So we scrapped the movie going plan. Instead, we went to City Sports Club where we played billiards for an hour or so. After that, Gerome left for a beach debut he was to attend. I went back to Ayala again to "see the sights and sounds of the mall".

Rainy Day at Ayala
Met Leorraine Tala in my meaningless wanderings around the mall. We had snacks at Harbour City where we talked much about friendship and all. It seems we share the same feelings against some Miss T, who happens to be a friend of Leorraine's. Perfect example of friends cracking up in the acid test.

After Leorraine left, I met another Raine. This time it's Raine Pimentel. We talked for a while about their night-out last night with some of my friends. I was supposed to join them last night, but I've really been passing up on a lot of opportunities. I don't know why. Could it be plain laziness or just apathy? I told Raine that I kinda feel that I look like a zombie scaring people away... Am I scary??? I don't think so 'coz the mirror didn't break yet.

Cozy Shop
I had dinner at Cafe de France at JY Square. The food was good, especially their Chicken Cannelloni. Their desserts were also delectable. What I liked about the resto is the ambiance. I kinda like the place... the palette of colors used, the interiors, furniture and fixtures. Their pastries also looked so... FRENCH. The nook reminds me of Le Coeur de France, a pastry shop I used to frequent when I was still in Manila. The place definitely brought back lots of beautiful memories.

Friday, March 21, 2003

Hmmm... quite an interesting day for me. I'll start with another Blind Item. I really don't want to post this, but it really irritates me when people show signs of cheating... especially when friends of mine cheat other friends of mine. This should be noted as part of my entries.

Blindfold Me!
I was selling a few Magic cards this morning, when a friend of ours Han Solo (not his real name)dropped by to join us. He's been spreading word that he already broke up with his girlfriend. I never believed a word he said, 'coz he once told me he couldn't make himself do that...because as he said: "How could I? Wala may sala ang babae sa ako." Truth is, he's quite tired of his GF and has been "flirting" around behind her back. I've been entertaining the thought that if he broke up with his GF, it would break my heart to see the girl cry, 'coz she's a friend of mine too, but part of me rejoices knowing that Mr. Han is just playing around for some game. I don't want to meddle, since I'm really not that close with the girl, but maybe close enough to care.

What happened is... tonight, I just realized that it was just one BIG FAT LIE! Typical of him to spread crap stuff. Next time Han says something, I know for sure it's all bull.

Sorcerer
I guess I could say I'm a sorcerer when I can convert pieces of paper into MONEY!!! It does grow on trees. When I was in high school, I collected Magic Cards. They were a hot item then and now the virus has once again spread. I invested some of my allowance on them, my time off school for trading cards, and all my efforts sure paid off. One pack of cards used to cost 80 pesos with 12 cards inside. If I sold it then on a per card basis, from a pack, I'd earn around 120 to 300+ pesos depending on the value of the cards. That's an income of 40+ and more! Since price of cards depend on dollar rate... and we know how strong the dollar is right now... selling them on current price would cost 30 to 200 pesos PER CARD. That is 30X12 = 360 to 200X12 = 2,400 per pack. It definitely is a booming business.

So now, the once idle pieces of paper in my closet are slowly converted to cash to add to savings. I'm no longer buying, but selling everything. I never knew these cards would appreciate nearly tenfold.

Reunion
I had lunch at Ila Puti. It was a long table full of... BLOGGERS!!! Among the bloggers present were Mitch (www.mitchdc.blogspot.com), Bill (www.chinitoeyes.blogspot.com), Vanessa (www.plum13v.blogspot.com), Gizelle a.k.a I-Pay (www.ipaypims.blogspot.com), Maia (www.maiatot.blogspot.com) and of course, yours truly.

Blanche and Mercy were there too and other 2nd year CompE classmates of Maia, Plum and I-Pay. Had lots of laughs about Mercy's shoes. She could set a new trend for shoes. Mercy, Blanche and I enjoyed a laughing session... about PENGUINS... which has something to do with Mercy's shoes and a Chinese teacher of ours in SHS-B. Bwahahaha...

Pay It Forwards... Just some thoughts for enlightenment...
I once had a friend in Ateneo who dramatically changed my outlook in life. I'm not sure if it's for the better or worse, but I guess I could say I'm what I am today because of him. He was more like my elder brother... a foster brother, since I'm the eldest in my family. Well, today, I repaid the favor by touching the life of another person. I hope I got my message through and I hope what I've shared with him would change his ways. When people commit errors, it's better not to make them our enemies. Talking peacefully to them is one way to change their bad habits/traits. A friend listens more attentively than an enemy does. Sometimes, punishment must be left in the hands of God Almighty. I believe that only He can judge and the right of punishment is not in man's hands, but in God's omniscient eye. What is important is remorse on the part of the sinner and making sure he does not err again. We are all human and there are times we sin and sin AGAIN. Sometimes, it is inevitable to commit the same faults, therefore vengeance is not the key in reconciling with those who have wronged us. What's best is to allow the person to say sorry, feel remorse and somehow let him do something as an act of penance. Sometimes erring folks are they themselves victims of circumstances. And we know how strong some pressures and urges are. So let's all acknowledge the fact that we are all sinners. We just happen to err at different degrees due to different circumstances. So as humans, we must learn to dialogue and try to meet half way. Squashing our enemies like an ant will only make matters worse. One small sin leads to another one. Evil begets evil. But good brings MORE good. We should all strive to help curb our own shortcomings and those of others, so we can bring about a more peaceful and just society... and leave God to do the rest. Let God be the judge, let him exact punishment, allow Him to return His lost sheep to the flock. Who knows... the person we have dialogued with could change for the better and who knows... he might try to bring others to the light. So pay it forwards.

I really wanted to post blog last night, but my ISP's trunkline got congested. I wanted to use my PhilWeb account, but the trunkline was under repair. The only trunkline left was for prepaid subscribers. I tried to use it, but couldn't get through due to traffic congestion. I called PhilWeb today and they said they'll have a new trunkline set up by tomorrow. Whee! Faster internet access! *keeps fingers crossed. I have this other Pacific Prepaid account, but sad to say I ran out of load.

Well, I had difficulty sleeping again last night. The ordeal with Sabrina and my book is getting to me. Finally, I got the book today. Just had her leave it that the guardhouse. Better that way... Anyway, I hope you're not thinking that this is the reason why I became an insomniac again last night. Actually it's because of the talk we had with Apple_Pay yesterday at CEAC1. When I went home from school yesterday, I got to thinking... what the h*ll was I telling Apple_Pay. I used to be good at giving advices. I used to sympathize and empathize, but from that conversation of ours, I was like telling her to be strong... I was like asking her to be more practical... to throw away all urges brought about by passion... to let mind win over heart. Am I becoming dense??? DENSE???

I couldn't sleep last night, so I raided the fridge... then borrowed the free weights of our driver and did a 2 hour workout... at 2 in the morning!!! Then I stopped to contemplate for 30 minutes... like Buddhist monks do. My mind was running fast with thoughts flashing in and out. I DESPERATELY wanted to talk to somebody... just to talk stuff and speak my mind. Unfortunately, time again was not on my side. It would really be rude and really stupid to be calling someone at 3 in the morning. So I went back to my room and watched CNN... and that was the last thing I remembered... zzzzZZZzzzz... I dozed off till 8 this morning. Ran errands for mum by 9, then went back home.

NEWS UPDATE
Upon reaching home, I watched CNN again to get updates about Iraqi Crisis. The deadline was set for 9AM today... 0100 GMT. It was already 10AM 0200 GMT and still no US led war. From the live telecast, Iraqi troops filled the skies with shells from anti-aircraft guns due to poor visibility. The cloudy sky over Iraq posed a threat to Iraqi air defense, so they had to rain it with high caliber shells to make sure no Allied aircraft gets close to their territory. American cruisers fired a series of tomahawk missiles at a "target of opportunity". The allied forces got an intelligence report of Saddam's whereabouts, so they took no chances and fired. Hours after Bush addrressed the nation about the US stand on the crisis, Saddam issued a live telecast to deny rumors that he was killed by the said cruiser missile attack this morning.

I'm back to BLOGGING sooner than I expected. Have been away from the BlogWorld for quite some time. I took the rather long weekend off to busy myself with a favor of a friend of mine. It definitely brought out my creative ideas. I busied myself with making designs... mixing CAD designs with the traditional cartolina, felt, art paper and cutouts. I definitely learned a lot about using Adobe Photoshop. It was more like a free self-study course on Adobe Photoshop. I really had fun making the designs and collating them into one book. It reminded me of my high school days when I used to spend nights doing pop-up projects and structural models using various materials. It's a very WONDERFUL feeling to see your ideas materializing.

DISCOVERY
The long weekend also served as a "recollection" for me. Though not spiritual in nature, I learned a lot about myself and was able to test my WILL to the limits. What kept me at home for the entire weekend was not purely the bulk of the project. It was more about breaking routine... breaking the ordinary... doing something different...in one word CHANGE. Change is the only thing constant in this world, so they say. And the weekend was proof enough of it.

For so many months, I've noticed that I became too "clingy" to people... Sometimes I could feel that I'd die if I have no friend to spend time with. This weekend, I controlled this "neediness". Spent time just with me my, myself and I. I survived and I guess I came out a better individual.

DIVINE INTERVENTION
Last night, I made the last ditch efforts to finalize my designs. I alarmed my cellphone clock at 9PM so that from then on I'll start studying for my 2 final exams today - HIST17 and EE12. My clock didn't ring and by the time I checked on it, it was already past 11. I guess I got so hooked at what I was doing, such that I started hitting the books by 5AM already. By 5, I still wasn't sleepy. Eyes Wide... OPEN! Then as I read through my notes in Rizal History, the topic must have bored me terribly such that the next thing I remember... my secondary alarm clock rings and it's 6AM... time to wake up and get ready for school.

Rushed off to school, stayed at the canteen and crammed... CRAMMED... CRAMMED!!! The list of dates, names and figures was long since final exams have wide topic coverage. Took the exam at 7:30 only to find out it was a cheap multiple choice plus essay exam. I guess Sir Mansueto gave it as a parting gift. Hehehe... Went to the canteen afterwards. Maiatot, Mitch, Vanessa and Adrian were there. I was cramming (AGAIN?!?) for my EE12 exams. 20 pages of notes and equations all crammed up into my 128MB memory card. Went to my 10:30 EE12 class. Sat on my chair... teacher arrives and he fiddles over some papers and blue books... opens his class record... and reads... "(name, name...), John Lim, (...name, name), you may now leave the class. You're exempted from the finals exam!" I was so relieved and overjoyed to hear the term "EXEMPTED!" There is a God... there is a GOD!!!

BLIND ITEM
From TC, Adrian and I took a jeepney to Ayala where I had Ratsky's 99-eat-all-you-can meal. Met Leorraine near Audionet. She joined in with us. So it was the two of them staring at me having my lunch.

On with the blind item... While at Ratsky, Adrian returned to me my D.E. book, which was borrowed by Sabrina(not her real name). Can't Sabrina just return it to me personally? Why does she have to transform my friend into a mailbox or a mobile package counter? I'm not discriminating other cultures when I say that I expect more manners from the Chinese. Adrian even said that Sabrina also asked him to serve as "courier" in returning my Physics book. I guess my good friend refused since my Physics book is the complete version (Volumes I-III combined) and is about 3 inches thick and definitely weighs a lot.

IRAQ CRISIS
This afternoon, my mum asked me to process the renewal of my visas/passports just in case time arises to leave this country... talk about paranoia! I guess it's safer to stay here than migrate to the US and be a victim of Saddam's or Bin Laden's nerve gas.

I'm now watching a LIVE broadcast of the British Parliament's debate over the crisis in Iraq. From the debate, it is clear that the primary motive of the war is to destroy the regime of Saddam and the threats of terror that come with it. U.N., for 12 years, has been sitting on the job of weapons inspection. It's only now that the U.N. is serious about disarming Iraq due to the pressures exerted by the Bush administration. Despite the ongoing international pressure, U.N. still is not producing much results. This morning, Bush addressed to the nation a 48-hour ultimatum for Saddam to disarm. With or without U.N. consent, the U.S. will launch an attack in observance of the set deadline. Sad to say, this goes to show how weak the power of the U.N. is.

Should Saddam step down, the war will be put off. What alarms the U.S and Britain is that France, a long-time member of the alliance, chose to veto the resolution whether Saddam relinquishes power or not. Why? Has Saddam's riches hypnotized the French President, Jacques Chirac? From the debate, it seems that America and Britain are very decided with this war, because to back out would, quote:"...wound our relations with NATO and other allies." Didn't they think that if they push through with an unnecessary war, LIVES would be lost??? What's life compared to diplomatic relations? You be the judge.

Your
score is

27/50

what does that mean?

Others
see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you
as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest...Not a person who makes
friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to
friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those
who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust
in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over
it if that trust is ever broken.

My personality is rated 27.

2nd post for the day...

I've got things to say and I didn't want to make one really long blog, so had to cut them to more, but shorter pieces. Just wanna comment on the trivia questions I've been answering lately. I could say MOST of them are true, but not all. I'm still puzzled why I got "SEXY" as the word that best describes me. Maybe I'd understand if it went to Adrian!!!, but me??? Something must be wrong with their calculations. I should have gotten something like "SATIRICAL"... or as Maiatot would put it... "SEETAR" as in seetar player... Hehehe... had a good laugh there.

Also this... my heart is "RED"...???... But the calculations must have given much weight on the "brush yourself up and try again" answers. I guess, unless I'm brave enough to "CONFESS", I won't be able to exactly know how it's going to be... right? Love... it's just part of life. Time heals all wounds and time also brings the RIGHT ONE closer to you. Time has been healing me... I often pray to the Lord to help me forgive and forget. I guess I've forgiven my past, but the forget part is where I'm struggling hard. As to the RIGHT ONE part... hmm... I guess it goes the same way. I know the RIGHT ONE is out there, perhaps just right under my nose... hmmm... so I need not look far. I just have to WAIT... WAIT WAIT and WAIT. I guess that's what the GOOD ONES are also doing. I should have done that in the first place.

Anyway, I now have a new HAPPY THOUGHT... she's imaginary, but has the same effect on me... maka INSPIRE. Till here 'coz I have a seminar to attend tonight at 6. Learned much from last night's session, but I feel they could have taught more. Hope tonight's session gets better. Ciao!
The Blogworld seems silent these days. I guess it's that time of the semester again when everyone's busy. I can't wait for summer vacation already! I feel like the schoolyear's ending this Friday... yeah, in my dreams. Hehe... How I wish it were so... skipping final exams and project defenses and all those last-minute pahabol.

Every summer vacation, I always experience this: Towards the start of the vacation, I'm so excited to just dip myself into the pleasures of the super long break, then as weeks pass by, I begin to wish that classes would start the next week already, 'coz I'd start missing my friends... that's if there are any... and then as the vacation draws to a close, I get so pumped up and excited about going to school... then as classes start, I wish it were summer vacation still. Weird isn't it??? I guess it's the perfect proof that man will never be contented.

Just finished playing STARCRAFT with Disney and Jessie. So I'm blogging while checking out the sites of my fellow bloggers... not much update though. Hope Maia finds her wallet. Welcome Gary to the blogging world. Thought you were new, but saw that you've been blogging along... and not telling us... *tsk tsk tsk. Anyway, thanks for frequenting my site and I'll do the same with your site. Hi to Leslie. I forgot to officially welcome you to my site, so here... WELCOME!

Perfect day again... tra la la la la! All I need now is a stroll at the park with...*toot and it's... ahhhh. Woke up to a jump start. My EE teacher just gave me a PISO for my Finals Practical Exam this morning. I was so happy 'coz it was one big fulfillment on my part. It just proved that I can now operate generators and I can convert motors into devices that generate electricity.

After the exam, I had a short break since my other classmates were still taking the exam. Visited VOT Office. TotyFroty, Paypims and Plum were there. Plum you are now MORE gorgeous! Hehehe. Really like the straight hair, but won't you miss the curls... kinda makes you look like Chloe man gud... more like Little Red Riding Hood... just kidding.

Attended my CompE class and my teacher exempted me from oral defense, so I was out early. Went with Stitch to Avalon to have lunch, where he blogged as usual. He copied my post yesterday and that of Karen. I guess we'll be expecting another touching post from him again. Just an advice Nin, concentrate on your studies first. I'm kinda worried over your performance in school. I know I'm not your mother, but I think as your friend I should tell you to put more effort in your academics. Too much fun ain't good too you know. I'm just concerned that's all. So hope you heed my advice. It's not just me saying this. Others have noticed too.

After Avalon, we went back to school. Spent 2:30 to 5:30 at canteen with Chewwy... made a business proposal with him, then Jessie, Disney and went to TAP to play Starcraft. The game was not finished, since they still had classes. Afterwards, I just decided to blog... have to add a new member of my blogcircle tonight, so watch out for it. Have to go now, since I have a LINUX Seminar to attend this 5:30 with the 2 gorgeous ladies in my life... have also a class from 6 to 7, so I guess I'll be at the seminar for 30 minutes, then continue from 7 to 8:30. Till the next post peeps.

The previous blog was for yesterday, Saturday. Posted it so late last night that Blogger carried it over to the next day, today.

I've not much to blog about my Sundays. Usually it's breakfast at City Sports then mass at their Sinulog Ballroom... then check on our store at Ayala, then lunch at home. The rest of the afternoon is usually spent sleeping, watching TV, listening to MP3s or doing Monday's homework. Got no plans for this Sunday afternoon, so I'll just post a reply to what Karen posted in her site.

Why do guys who have girlfriends still look for other girls?

I guess it's unfair to consider it only one way. Although in MOST cases, the guys are the ones who look for another mate, but I've also known some girls who "juggle" other guys even though they've already got a boyfriend. This "infidelity" practice is certainly unfair. Not only is it unfair, it is deceitful, manipulative and extremely animal-like. We are not dogs who bang just any dog in the neighborhood. We are HUMANS. I'd rather eat pieces of *toot than lose all self-respect I have for myself, not to mention being in a blind item in the papers, being severely criticized by the public eye for such animalistic behavior.

The answer to this question is vividly depicted in the movie Someone Like You starring Ashley Judd. Her "COW THEORY" perfectly describes why men cheat on their girlfriends/wives and why some women cheat on their boyfriends/husbands. Why include husbands and wives? Well, if an unmarried individual cheats even during courtship or engagement, how much more if he/she is already married. A rotten apple whether in a fruit stand or already cooked in a pie will always be rotten... a poison rushing through the veins, devouring every organ till the heart stops beating... like a heart-attack... a treachery towards the self.

MOST cheat, but there are SOME that don't. As what the Bible says - Christ gives much importance to the few, just like a shepherd leaves the whole flock to search for his lost sheep. Thus, we can't really generalize that men/women by NATURE cheat. Some individuals lack fidelity because they treat their partners/mates, as what a friend of mine would say,... ICE CREAM???... This March, Miss M is the Flavor of the Month, by April Miss A, by May Miss M (another M), by June Miss J, by July Miss J (another J again)... and so on and so forth.

I once had a classmate named James (name withheld). Adrian knows this guy too. James is what one would call a chickboy. To me, using the term "chickboy" to describe his behavior would be an understatement. Not only does he "juggle" one lady after another, he "sleeps" with them too. After he gets what he wants, he looks for another. We definitely pity the poor girls, but with what James is doing, I guess we should feel all the more sorry for the future husbands of these ladies. He must have popped the flower of so many ladies already... the number of which could be more than 50. I'm serious with that.

One of my fears is marrying someone who's already been "shared" with someone else. I can safely say (can I? hehehe) that all of us here come from well-respected and morally upright families, whether of Filipino or Chinese ethnicity. The worst that could happen is for our generation to tarnish all that shining respect. So choose wisely, because evil has its ways of deceiving even the holiest of holies.

Just a Tot:
My uncle who is 2 years ahead of me once asked me, Why is it that the good ones often go to the chickboy or bugoy guys? And here we are doing everything right and it seems everything goes wrong? Are we missing something I was puzzled myself and couldnt reply anything but I guess, its not yet our turn. My uncle is an only child and I have no sister, so we really couldnt get any female perspective other than our female friends. Were shy to ask our mothers... it just isnt the way the cookie crumbles, so understand us. If someone could reply to this I would gladly appreciate it.
My post today came so late. When I got home, I almost forgot what I wanted to say. Okay here goes my day.

My ECE laboratory teacher waived our finals exam. Instead of having a practical/hands-on exam, he asked us to submit a project. We are to make our own power supply. I guess I'll be busy with the project this coming week. Have to go to downtown again to buy some electronic stuff. Never liked the idea of going to downtown, 'coz there's nowhere to park. Jeepney again...

After our short class, I spent time at the VOT Office composing my first article as member of the new staff. They made me write next week's HEADLINES regarding the recently concluded elections. Have to get the results as soon as possible, so that the news will still be fresh from the source itself... COMELEC. I'm flattered I was given this opportunity as my first task.

Was supposed to hang out with some friends... unfortunately the outing didn't push through. Spent half of the afternoon at the gym pumping iron... then went to Ayala... with nobody but me walking aimlessly around. By 4, I met Fritz and Jeremy who just came out of the moviehouse watching Shanghai Knights. One hilarious movie they say... love it when Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson go plainly duhhh...mb. Hehe...

Jeremy left early, so it was just Fritz and I walking around. Marie suddenly sneaked up behind me and so we added an honorary member into our band of mall rats. Hehehe... Seems Fritz and Marie knew each other, so just a minor introduction had to be done. Asked Marie how the QUADRO are doing... haven't been in talking terms with them lately ever since... when was that again... *looks puzzled. Seems they're okay... Marie left after a few... laps, 'coz her driver was waiting for her at the parking lot. Our stomachs began to growl, so the two of us went to Flame It! and bought a burger each. Talked stuff and learned so much...information... I've really been missing a lot ever since I've not been hanging out with them - the 4th year IE studes.

Nursery Rhyme for the Day:
It's a SMALL world after all. It's a SMALL world after all. It's a SMALL world after all. It's a SMALL SMALL world.

Tot You Had Enough Mind Bogglers Yet? Well, Give Some Tot to This.
Guess Toty Froty and I are more RELATED than we thought we were. Analyze this: Maiatot is the niece of my maternal grandmother's brother's wife. Ergo, I am her aunt's husband's sister's grandson. Gets??? Today, a new relation has been established... This is an easier analogy. So for the Pentium 386s, analyze this: Maiatot is the daughter of the cousin of my aun'ts husband. Ergo, I am her mother's couzin's nephew. Easier diba? Hehehe...

Posted this blog late 'coz after having dinner with family at Don Henrico's where I met Bunny Tan, I had to supervise the store till 11. We had some drainage problems and the Ayala Maintenance Dep't couldn't fix it if there are still customers around. So we had to wait for around 10:00 before the work could be done. It took an hour's work to fix the problem. I kinda enjoyed what they were doing. Adds up to the skills of the Mr. Fix It in me. Hehe... So I'm now home... posting blog and then off to dreamland... to my favorite place where I can really be who I want to be. Night folks!

Friday, March 07, 2003

I'm now at TAP TC blogging 'coz I can't blog at home. I've exceeded my monthly limit downloading MP3's, so I get to blog someplace else. Anyway, I just came from the COMELEC Booth to cast my vote. Just voted for the sake of exercising one's right. Never liked politics... much more the dirty politics here at USC. The government here is like a CIRCUS.. with elephants, clowns, jugglers and idiots.

I'm now waiting for my 6:00 class. A friend here at TAP told me the teacher of our 6:00 class is absent the whole day, so no class. Have to wait till 7:30 to hitch with my cousin.

I had no idea what to blog till I read Adrian's blog. Months ago, I took an exam at the Guidance Office. An analysis of the results was handed out to me. The counselor said: Your IQ: *finger pointed upwards. Your EQ: *counselor bends downward with open palm facing up with the other side of his hand touching the FLOOR. I was very alarmed with what the counselor told me. He said that I was one person whose mind and heart are very strong... and all are at the extremes. He said that my mind is too firm to be controlled by the heart, and the heart feels too much without the mind's reason handling any part of it.

I was deeply worried, so I bought a book on Emotional Intelligence. Even after reading the book, still I couldn't make my mind and heart work hand-in-hand. Despite that, I still fall hard.. and as what Maia would put it: walay kambyohay.

You might be asking, "What's this got to do with Adrian's blog?" Well, from the things that happened to me lately, I have this fear of just throwing myself to the clutches of my emotions... the dictates of the heart. I know it's strong, but I should know the mind is also strong. Men may be the head of the family, but the women are the neck. And the neck sure can make the head turn in any direction the neck wants it to. Just like that, the mind can also supress the tsunami's of the heart. That's exactly what's happening to me. I'm holding back... reigning my horses in. My fear is that I'll close my ports to the world and all that will be left of me is an empty lot. I just wanna pour in some thoughts of mine before the fields go barren. I know my flames of passion still burn, but not as hot as before. Perhaps someone may come along and rekindle the warmth of these flames... or someone may just put the flames out once and for all. Only God knows how life goes for me.

While I was reading Adrian's blog, I couldn't help but recall the thoughts that I once had... my Dreams (with a capital D).. my goals... my aspirations... my hopes... the flames of passion that once lit the dark recesses of my human soul... the light at the end of the dark tunnel that defined my very existence - "... this too shall pass". Months ago, I also did some thinking similar to that of Adrian's, but I never took the time to share it wih you folks... because I was busy... busy with thinking of someone... but that's over now... no hope, so I must move on and share those thoughts I had with you.

If you, dear bloggers, could still remember, I posted a blog wherein I was busy stargazing till the wee hours of the morning at the rooftop. Those, to me, were the nights where I thought about the so-called PERFECT life I wanted to have... the close family I belong to... the perfect circle of friends... the ideal girlfriend... graduation... the high-paying job... the most romantic engagement and wedding proposals (have to come up with one that's better than those in the screens)... the perfect wedding... the coziest house... waking up each day looking at my wife and say "God, what's a lovely girl like her doing with a bum like me!"... the smart, charming, and amusing kids who bring joy and color to the world... the sight of my kids all grown up and living up to their dreams... the perfect journey to Heaven. I'd give up anything else just to have all these.

I've dreamt a couple of times of something similar to City of Angels... that I saw all my dreams flash like scenes cut from a movie. Bright light flashes in... everything moves in slow motion... sounds muffled by the vespers of the wind... like whispers shattering silence. My face draws an expression of awe in ironic disbelief. I run with hands reaching out like a child to its mother... yet all is but an illusion. My eyes deceive me. I trip and the tangible fragments come rushing forth like bullets penetrating me, but come to pass right through my permeable body. I fall into a dark well. I fall faster and faster with a speed that burns my face. A circle of bright light floods in and I wake up realizing it was just a dream. I pinch myself, and YES it was just a dream.

I could say I'm a very old person who has already experienced a lot. Sometimes I ask myself, could there be more to life? I guess there's more I have to undergo. I've realized that life isn't perfect and that some things happen or don't happen for reasons only God knows why. I've always wanted to know how it feels to have the one I love in my arms, caressing, with her head perfectly laid on my shoulder. They say doing so could generate enough heat for 2 people to bear a ravaging snowstorm. I wonder if it's but a poet's verse. I believe it could happen.

Tot gave me a very thought-provoking remark days ago. She told me that the ones I get to like are the quiet... hilomon types. It appears so, because they look mysterious... and the mysterious type definitely catches the eye... but the one that captures the heart is the one who speaks her mind. I may not be MOST MEN, but I definitely love a girl who is honest and open enough to share her thoughts. Silent waters may run deep, but if you're too quiet... umm... I might start wondering if that thing up there is really working. In short, it's nice to have someone who has a good head over her shoulders. Smart.

Another thought that crossed my mind... I've always wanted to live in a house facing the sea... like we're the only people on a deserted island far from civilization. It may sound like I'm shutting out the world, but it's more like I getting more privacy and spending all the time in the world I have with the people that matter most in my life... wife and kids. No beeper and cellphone calls from work... no reports to type and check... no financial statements to balance... NO WORRIES, NO DISTRACTIONS. It's just me, my family and nature. It's my own peaceful space on earth. It's my Garden of Eden, my paradise. I could remember a movie starring Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni... "THE FAMILY MAN" Cage was given a taste of a life he could have had if he hadn't boarded the plane to some place. The best part of that movie was when he said "Everything that's important is on this bed." - Cage, Leoni and their 2 lovely little kids. I guess that part of the movie beats all those famous movie lines we tag so often.

It's getting long already and I'm the only one at the cafe. I'll pour in more thoughts every now and then. Keep posted.

fine wine

Sophisticated, classy, experienced and knowledgeable.

All of these characteristics come in handy in whatever scene you find yourself in.

Like, if a guy takes you out to dinner, hed better take you to a nice restaurant.

No middle-of-the-road place will do.

Youre chic. You must be entertained in the manner to which you have grown accustomed.

And woe unto he who jus dont get it!

Pinky in the air? Youd better believe it.

And nose too, if Joe Frat Boy ever tries to make time with you.

Another fun-filled morning at the canteen with MERCY!!!, Tot and Plum. Nang-gawas jud among pagka G.I. (Genuine Insik). I was busy helping Plum with her Physics laboratory report. After some serious formula derivation, we got into a round of just fooling around. Doa Victorieeeeena said something which made me kneel infront of her with arms stretched out...like worshipping a Goddess???... then all of a sudden, Mercy spoke of doing it the way Chinese citizens do infront of emperors, empresses and members of the imperial family. You can check how it is done by watching some Chinese shows in Star Mandarin or Channel 54 of Dream.

So Tot, now you know what my 1st impressions of you are. Glad to have gotten to know a bit of you and realized that indeed 1st impressions don't last.

For all the fun and laughter, my stomach began to growl. First, I spent 23 pesos to buy rice, egg and a slice of Beefsteak Tagalog at the canteen. Afterwards, wala ko nabusog, so I spent another 24 bucks on a second helping of rice, 2 pieces of ngohiong and 2 pieces of hotdog. Wala pa jud nabusog, I took out a pack of Nesvita, which I carry in my bag always as baon, mixed it with cold water and drank a glass of it. And that satisfied my appetite.

Attended class and edited a second campaign article written by another presidential bet. This time, the article was more readable, so I just had to make a few slight corrections. Went to Avalon to meet up with Adrian. Saw him eating... AND... I just couldn't resist but order the same dish he was having - TAPSILOG. Another 35 bucks. All in all... 82 bucks worth of pigging out! When I reached home around 5, I had pizza delivered again while I was making some Assembly programs. I don't know why I've been eating a lot these days. Maybe I've got worms consuming all the food I eat in my stomach . Enjoy your dinner. I'm definitely enjoying mine.

--+--!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE LIM!!!--+--

She once told me that I was her long lost brother... so long lost sister ko na rin.

WARNING: Rated PG 13. Read at your own risk.

Adrian, Maiatot, Vanessa, Michael Tee and I enjoyed an extremely green, but hilarious conversation over ice tea and Dunkin Donuts this morning at the canteen. We talked about HOLES... and counting how many they are in our bodies. Conclusion: Holes (on women) = Holes (on men) + 2. I don't know how the conversation went from LINUX Seminar to HOLES. It's either because of Adrian's pagka *ahem or just the holes that the doughnuts had. Never knew doughnuts can bring out the horny devil in you. Hehehe... As if the topic was not green enough, somebody brought up the topic about body parts secreting stuff. Still an accounting was done...(shift na lang mo BS Accounting)... Conclusion: Parts on women = Parts on men + 2 again. Adrian won the debate... goes to show who's the expert jud... Mr. PhD. Enough on that since I'm all grossed out already.

We left the place wearing smiles from end to end. I was at the VOT Office for the afternoon editing an article written by a presidential candidate for Friday's elections. Practically I had to do an overhaul. This candidate has been running for the same position for 3 straight years already under the same party. The way I see it, he won't win again in this years elections.

Rode on a jeep to Ayala with Adrian. Went to the gym to work out for 2 hours, then went back to our store to manage it till closing time. Mum went to the Activity Center to attend a mass to get badlis. Today's ASH WEDNESDAY... a day of fasting and abstinence.

The surprise exam was indeed one big surprise! It was a hoax! Slept late last night studying till 2AM and... no exam. Sometimes intelligence reports have their loopholes. Hehehe. For what it was worth, at least I don't have to cram for the next exam.

Had lunch at Avalon with Adrian. I must have spent nearly a hundred bucks on food. I don't know what got into me, but I was really one hungry lion. Hear me roar!

Attended our 3:00 classes. We had an exam, and it was definitely easier than the previous one. Our teacher must have taken pity on us, since barely half of the class will pass this subject as of this moment. After the exam, Adrian and I met up at the TC Covered Court where the different political parties were having a campaign rally. STAND, SPP and TINGOG politicos were all present. We didn't stay long. We went to CEAC where I signed up for 5 LINUX Modules to be taught next week. I will be taking a short crash course in LINUX along with Maia and Vanessa and other interested students. LINUX is currently getting much attention in the industry, since itss FREEWARE and it is a remarkably stable OS. Success is all about having the edge above the rest.

Newsflash:
About an hour ago, 3 bombs exploded in Davao. One of the bombs exploded at the Davao Airport. As of press time, 19 have been confirmed dead and 20 wounded. Please pray for the crisis in Mindanao.

I'm back to my late posts again. Lots of schoolwork have been piling up lately and it seems I'm enjoying the busy... ness of the tasks. Just finished reading 60 pages of Rizal for another "exam" tomorrow. It's going to be a surprise quiz, but thanks to my membership in the CIA, I receive the news before it happens... more like Early Edition. Love the cat that delivers the paper... cat lover that I am.

I guess I have nothing much to post except for Adrian's amazing song number this afternoon. The entire barangay was there to watch him sing. Walter, Jed, Michael Tee, Corrin, Party Girl were there. We even held up a banner "Adrian, WE LOVE YOU!!!" Hehe... just like what crazy fans do. Adrian sang Fra Lippo Lippi's Beauty and Madness *senti masyado... We were shocked to hear him on stage standing like a gooooood boy, singing with such a soft and gentle voice... and we all know how extremely loud and powerful this "subwoofer" could get... right Nin? Hehe... just kidding.

Before I got home, I was quite worried about what to blog. Kinda ran out of stuff to talk about. It was just a typical Sunday and blogging about it would be such a bore - Sunday mass at City Sports, homework at home, quick shopping at SM (3-day sale just ended today and bought something new... figure it out.) and dinner at Rai Rai Ken. That was my day... none out of the ordinary.

In my last blog I just mentioned something about things just turning out right. Well, it happened again just an hour ago. I didn't know what to post. When I was sniffing around other people's blogs, I read something that needed my comment... something posted in Maia... TotyFroty's tagboard. I couldn't resist a good challenge, especially when it involves analogies. Pandi is known for his superb analogies... especially the way he compares women to calculators, cars, ice cream, etc. Hehe. Now, Maia just introduced a new one... MEN ARE LIKE PARKING SPACES???

If you guys have the time, check it out in Tot's tagboard. I'll leave you to give your own comments. I just wanna share a comment James, a friend of mine, once gave me. He commented (in Visayan): "Wala na man chicks dire sa TC. Kung naa man gani, taken na or pakipot sab kaayo. Sa Cebu Doc ug Velez, daghan kaayo, unya mas mu hatag pa ug chance. Feel kaayo sa mga babaye diri kung kinsa sab sila. Mamalhin na lang ta." I had a good laugh there. We all know how buotan James is and to hear a comment like that from him brought me to a trance.

Yesterday:
From 8PM to 3AM straight, I was busy cutting out some letterings and painting them for the stage decorations of tonight's event - Mr. & Ms. CompE 2003. I slept at around 3AM and had to wake up early for a 7:30 class today.

Today:
The teacher didn't show up. He had to be part of a panel that will evaluate the theses of graduating 5th year students. So much for waking up so early with barely 4 hours of sleep. I killed time at the VOT Office, while waiting for the 10:00AM VOT Orientation. Plum and Apple_Pay were there with the rest of the staff.

Mitch picked up the letterings at our store past 2:00. I was hoping to see how my work turned out... whether it went well with the stage motif. I had a sudden mind shift and decided not to. Instead of going to CAP for the stage decorations, I paid the gym a visit and went for my regular workout. By 5:00PM, mum was telling me to attend the 6:00 pageant along with the rest of the CompE students. Ever since that Smallville incident at home, I never expected her to allow me, much more insist that I watch the pageant. To my own surprise, I decided not to watch the show. I went with my family for dinner... just slices of pizza and chicken at Shakey's JY Square, but definitely a wonderful experience. Haven't had a table conversation with family for weeks. Speaking of family ties, I saw Mercy with her family at Ayala right after closing hours.

I've noticed this sudden shift in my lifestyle. I tend to do the exact opposite of what I want. Turns out, I'm happier this way. Is there a psychological explanation for this???

Just a tot...
Ever since I've joined the Blogworld, I write articles, reports, and reaction papers with much ease. Impromptu speeches no longer give me the jitters and the cold feet that they once did. My thoughts simply flow. I dunno if this is also the case with you fellow bloggers. Is it?
